Real Men Don't Text by Ruthie & Michael Dean--Book Review

In the new age of technology, dating can be a crazy adventure or a straight path off the edge of heartbreak ridge. In Real Men Don't Text, Ruthie and Michael Dean aim to give tips on how to better your dating life through technological and non-technological ways. They give advice, tell stories of their own dating past, and bring about a new perspective to this technological age and dating.

This. Book.

Oh my gosh, this book. It was absolutely fantastic. I seriously wish every single girl and woman out there hoping to date and get married could read this book. The advice given within the pages from both perspectives was amazing.

I found myself agreeing with almost everything. There were scenarios given, explanation of what is right or wrong within the dating spectrum, and tips to get out fast. They gave perspectives on some topics that other books or discussion skirt around (ie. online dating, texting, long distance, Mr. or Mrs. Right, etc). Amazing.

The topics in the book surround serious issues. Younger girls should be wary of reading it topics like sex, sexting, or anything of that nature is inappropriate or make them uncomfortable. That being said, I think one of the best things about this book is that it delves into that side of things. A lot of people shy away from those topics because of embarrassment, but they need to be addressed. They also talk a lot about self-worth and beauty, which I thought was wonderful.

The one thing I wish it had was more leaning toward guys. The book is clearly written for girls. Guys could read it, but most won't. But they need to see the perspectives given in this book also. Hopefully this couple writes another book for them.

To learn more about Ruthie and Michael, you can check out Ruthie's blog (where the idea of the book was started) or the book's website. I hope you consider finding a copy of this book and taking the advice between the pages because it is fantastic.

I received a complimentary copy of this book free from Tyndale House Publishers for review purposes only. I was asked to give my honest opinion, nothing more.
